AQT’s IBEX Q1 Now Available on qBraid Lab

qBraid is thrilled to announce that AQT’s IBEX Q1 is now available directly within qBraid Lab, bringing another powerful trapped ion quantum computer to our growing ecosystem of hardware partners.

This integration represents more than just expanded access. It reflects our shared mission with AQT to make high performance quantum computing more accessible to researchers, developers, and innovators around the world.

Meet IBEX Q1

IBEX Q1 is a 12 qubit, fully connected trapped ion quantum computer engineered for precision experimental work. Built using calcium 40 ions confined within an ultra high vacuum chamber, the system delivers:

  • All to all qubit connectivity
  • High single qubit gate fidelity
  • Stable and controllable ion trap operations

These characteristics make IBEX Q1 especially well suited for proof of concept algorithms, quantum simulation, and foundational research requiring clean, high quality gates.

With IBEX Q1 now integrated into qBraid Lab, users can design, run, and analyze real quantum circuits on AQT hardware without leaving their browser.

About AQT

Alpine Quantum Technologies (AQT), based in Innsbruck, Austria, is a leading developer of trapped ion quantum computers. Emerging from decades of pioneering research in quantum physics, AQT has established itself as a key innovator in the European quantum landscape.

AQT’s technology is distinguished by:

  • Fully connected trapped ion architectures
  • Exceptional gate performance
  • Focus on scalable, research driven systems
  • Deep roots in academic excellence

By translating cutting edge ion trap research into reliable commercial quantum systems, AQT continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in quantum computing.

We are proud to partner with an organization that combines scientific rigor with real world engineering excellence.

Exploring the Power of All to All Connectivity

Fully connected architectures offer unique advantages for many algorithms and simulation tasks. AQT’s work in computational fluid dynamics highlights this potential:
